You can create new ad types, or modify the default ones, for your campaign. By default, there are Newspaper, Radio, and Television ad types.
Ad Types
- New: Creates a new ad type.
- Remove: Removes the selected ad type.
Details
- Name: The ad type name.
- Description: The ad type description.
Creation
- Cost To Make: The cost to make an ad of this type.
- Turns To Make: The number of turns an ad of this type takes to make.
- % Highly Successful: The chance that, when a user creates an ad of this type, it will be highly successful.
Attributes
- Base Power: The Power an ad of this type has, before any other bonuses are added to it.
- Turns To Start: The number of turns it takes to get an ad of this type to start running once it has been created. This is not the same as Turns To Make, which is how long it takes to create an ad of this type.
- Turns To Cancel: The number of turns it takes to cancel an ad of this type, if it is already running.
- Max Turns Can Run: The maximum number of turns an ad of this type can run.
- Immediately Available: The number of ads of this type a candidate can immediately create at the beginning of a campaign.
- Attack Power Bonus: The Power bonus for an ad of this type if it is an attack ad.
- Attack Backfire Chance: The chance an ad of this type will backfire if it is an attack ad.
- Cost Coefficient: The cost coefficient affects the cost to run an ad of this type. For example, a cost coefficient of 2 would make running this add twice as expensive as a default ad. A cost coefficient of 0.5 would make it half as expensive.
There are two strange things about my ads in one scenario I created: first, they seem to want to have negative cost, which kind of reverses their strategic role (as in, if the cost coefficient is positive then a candidate gains money when running the add and if the cost coefficient is negative they lost money!); second, they so far appear to have absolutely no impact whatsoever on momentum!
Hi Robert,
This is probably due to your population numbers being too large. See the version information page http://theoryspark.com/help/political_games/campaigns_forever/version-information/ under “Known problems”.
