The step buttons are unavailable.
If the step button are unavailable (greyed-out), it is because there is an error in the campaign. To view what the error is, click the View Errors button. It will identify where the error is. Once the error is fixed, you will be able to click the next Step button.
How do I open Windows Paint?
To open Windows Paint, usually you can click your Windows Start button, Programs, Accessories, Paint.
I receive the error “Invalid Image Size” when I try to run a scenario I have created.
This means that one or more of the images in the scenario is not the correct size. This might be due to a known bug with party and candidate images. Workaround: Go to your scenario’s folder, and inspect the files in the party_images folder. They should all be 101×101. In the sub-folder candidates they should all be 75×87 for large candidate images, 32×32 for small candidate images. Use a web-site like http://www.resizeyourimage.com/ to re-size any images that are not the correct size. Once they’ve been sized to the proper size (so 101×101 for party images, 75×87 for candidate images, 32×32 for small candidate images), import them into the scenario.

I have a problem with every scenario I’ve tried to make from scratch. Every time I get to election day, I get a “Invalid argument to time encode”
I have no idea what this means: I checked all of my states to make sure they all had poll closing times, but other than that I can’t think of what it’s talking about.
This bug was caused by time values for polling above 2359. This has been fixed in the latest version of Campaigns Forever (here http://theoryspark.com/help/political_games/campaigns_forever/version-information/ ), but you will need to check in your scenario that all the poll closing time values are between 0 and 2359 and then re-save.
As a big fan of the US politics I discovered your game. However, I am a french citizen, and “Campaign Forever” was for me the occasion of creating scenarii for France. My main problem is : how do I delete the “electoral vote” system ? In France only citizens’ vote count, we don’t have an electoral vote.
Thanks for your help !
Campaigns Forever is a scenario editor for President Forever 2008 + Primaries. Proportional representation or First-Past-the-Post can be used in the Primaries part of the game, however.
hi,
i’m doing a uruguay 2009 election scenario and everything with campaigns forever is running smoothly. photos work, perecentages add up, dates are coherents, and so are alectoral majorities, however, when i try to run it in president forever, an error sign appears with the following message:
“access violation 00519B02 in module ‘p4e.exe’. Read of adress 00000000″
all other scenarios run correctly. i can’t test it in campaigns forever because the “views errors” button does not appear on the window and the “Verify Campaign” doesn’t find any trouble, the “help” window isn’t of much help on this issiue and this is starting to get really frustrating. what should i do?
Heyy,
I’m having trouble opening my newly created scenarios in president forever+primaries as a error message appears- ‘Access violation ar address 005227F9 in module ‘p4e.exe’ Read of address 00000010′ and when i verify the campaign its all clear!
Any Help Please?
Thanks =)
Nick.
Hi Nick,
The best way for us to figure out what the problem is, is for you to send us a compressed (zipped) copy of the scenario, so we can re-create the error here. To do this, go to (usually) My Computer > C: > Program Files > President Forever 2008 + Primaries > Scenarios, right-click on the scenario folder, Send to, Compressed (zipped) folder. Then attach the zipped folder to an e-mail to us ( http://www.theoryspark.com/interact/contact.htm ), and make sure to include a description of the problem in your e-mail text.

What could be causing this error?

I have my scenario done without any problems, but when I try and load it, it gives me an error that says “Access violation at address 004C58E4 in module ‘p4exe”. Please give me advice to fix this, because I’ve worked on my scenario for 30+ hours!

I’ve been wokring on a campaign, and I went to do a trial run of it as is. No garphics, and just generalized %’s. The Campaign editor shows no errors and verifys the campaign. When I loadt he campaign, it seems to be working fine, until I try to end a turn, at which point it says “List Index out Of Bounds (0)”
Hi James,
I have sent you an e-mail confirming we have received the scenario.
I created a more up-to-date 2012 scenario, it’s really really good, but I created a Green Party in which Kent Mesplay is the only candidate, but for some reason everytime I try to play the game with him turned on (or even when I try to play as him) I get an ‘Invalid floating point operation’ message, and the only way I can do anything is by closing the game. What is wrong with the Green Party or Kent Mesplay, and how do I fix it?
