If you start with the Primaries option off, you can change the Vice-Presidential candidate when selecting your Presidential candidate.
Your running mate has their own attributes, which can complement your own President candidate’s attributes
To change your running mate
- In the Select Candidate for this Party dialog box, click “Change Veep” until you are satisfied with your running mate.
NOTE You can add additional running mates or create new ones using the Candidate Editor.
Hi,
I’m very confused about how to pick VP’s while playing a game that starts in the primaries. If you try to offer another candidate the VP slot during the primary, it says you must wait until you have the nomination locked up. But if you wait until the General Election, you can’t offer anyone the VP slot because you’re the only candidate in your party left.
Also, if another candidate wins the primaries, they will often pick a running mate who was not one of the other Pres. candidates. Do players have that option as well? Where do you go to make that selection?
Once you get to the party convention, you select your VP. You can also select a VP before that to get another player to drop out, if you already have a majority of the delegates needed to win your nomination.
Are you allowed to make a VP offer (before the convention) to a candidate of the OPPOSITE party?
Yes, you should be able to make a VP offer to a candidate who is running from the opposite party.
