Public polls, although free, are not always reliable. They tend to be correct only to +- 5%. This means that when a public poll says a party has 50% and another party has 50%, the reality could be that one party has 55% and the other has 45%.
NOTE Public polls are not accurate if the Fog of War option is not on.
Private polling significantly reduces the error in polls, but costs money to conduct (the cost varies from scenario to scenario), and 1 CP/turn (7 CP/poll since it takes 1 week to complete). During primaries, polling costs 3 CP/turn (a turn lasts 7 days).
To view a graph of the public polls
- In the national map, click the region for which you want to view the public poll (or click outside of the regions to view the national poll).
- From the main screen, click “Graphs”.
The graph is displayed in the Regional Popularity dialog box.
To conduct private polling
- From the main screen, click “Polling” and click Yes. Click OK to the messages that are subsequently displayed.
