Barnstorming
Barnstorming is a generalized activity that includes town hall meetings, stump speeches, mixing, and rallies.
If you barnstorm in the same constituency for more than a 5 turns, you will take a drop in your barnstorming Power as local media coverage of your campaign drops. If you start in primaries, the Power will be replenished once you enter the General Election, so you can campaign another 5 turns before it’s Power will drop again as local media coverage of your general election campaign drops.
For more information, see Barnstorming.
Give Policy Speech
Speeches have a high chance of making a high profile news article. Each candidate can only give one speech on a given issue. If an external event (see News Articles) causes an issue’s profile to rise, then all the candidates are able to give another speech on that issue if they had already given one. If you start in primaries, once you enter the General Election all your speeches will be replenished. You can’t give speeches on attribute issues (Leadership, Experience, Integrity, and Issue Familiarity).
Note: Speech headlines are sometimes crowded out by other news.
Note: Speeches are equivalent to barnstorming in the state they are given + the chance of a national headline, so there is a greater impact on the state where the speech is given.
Work on Issue Knowledge
Working on your Issue Knowledge will move you closer to increasing your Issue Familiarity attribute. You get a bonus if you have 70/100 towards a 4 value in Issue Familiarity attribute, but it will only be half as valuable as a full point increase. For example, a 3 for Issue Familiarity gives you three points, while being 50/100 towards 4 only gives you an extra .25, not an extra .5.

Do Debate Prep
Doing Debate Prep will move you closer to increasing your Debating Skill attribute. For example, a 3 for Debating Skill gives you three points, while being 50/100 towards 4 only gives you an extra .25, not an extra .5.

can third party candidates compete in the race? if so, are there any requirements?
sorr i meant to say the debates, not the race.
Hi Clay,
Third-party candidates can compete in the debate, depending on the scenario. Usually, they need to have at least 5% nationally to be included in the debates.
Hi- is there a way to not accept public financing and just get money through fundraising?
Hi Noah,
Yes, just click ‘No’ to accepting public funds when you start the game in the general election, or after the convention if you start in primaries.

Hi Ethan,
