The program tells me I need 800×600 resolution or higher, or won’t fit on my screen.
President Forever + Primaries requires your display resolution be set at 800×600 or higher. It is also recommended you use High Color (16 bit) or higher for your display.
To change these settings, click on your Windows Start menu button, click Control Panel, and click Display. Finally, click the Settings tab in the Display Properties window. You can change your resolution here by clicking and dragging the resolution bar handle.
The text does not fit on the screen.
President Forever + Primaries might have display problems if you are using Large or Extra Large Fonts. To change your fonts to normal, click on Control Panel, click on Display, click the Appearance tab, and set font size to normal.
The program exits unexpectedly when I am playing a game.
President Forever + Primaries is designed for Windows xp. If you get an error box and are using Windows 98 or Me, and when you click on the Details button you get a message similar to PRESIDENT caused a general protection fault in module NVDISP.DRV (where the .drv module may be something else), try turning down your acceleration on your graphics card. To do this, under Windows 9x, click the Windows Start menu, click Settings, and click Control Panel. From there, double-click Display, and (usually under ‘Settings’, ‘Advanced’) you should be able to find the Acceleration settings. Turn these down to the lowest they will go. Make sure to reboot your computer before trying to play President Forever + Primaries again.
If the game is exiting unexpectedly near the beginning of the game, try waiting until the scrolling text on the main screen has finished before proceeding.
Also try running President Forever + Primaries without other programs running.

I’m having some difficulty loading scenarios I have downloaded, some work, but I follow the instructions to install it to the folder and whenever I try to open it, the screen freezes and tells me its some access violation, and advice?
I’ve followed every instruction and still nothing
Hi Jamie,
Can you tell me which scenario in particular you are experiencing this with?
It is several scenarios, including GreeceUSA, BattleRoyal-2050, Fictional Presidents 2010, Protestant Reformation West Edition-1555, The Normandy Nightmare-1944, Favorite Sons-1836, Napoleonic War-1812, 2184bf, and several others. Example: First a box pops up saying
“Cannot open file scenarios ASG2-2004/\scenario.xml” then another box pops up saying: “Access violation at address 005172AE in module p4e.exe Read of address 02A5F9B4″ No idea what this means
Those are President Forever (Original, 2004 Version) scenarios. They will not work with President Forever 2008 + Primaries. There are two separate scenarios pages, one for President Forever 2008 + Primaries and one for President Forever (Original, 2004 Version). See http://www.theoryspark.com/scens.htm .
In that case is there any way for me to obtain the original 2004 Version from the 2008 Version?
Hello, ever since I downloaded the new version of Presidents Forever 2008, I have been unable to download new scenarios from the website or play any scenarios I have downloaded in the past, is there any way I can fix this problem?
Hi Jamie,
You can obtain President Forever (Original, 2004 Version) from here:
http://theoryspark.com/scens.htm
Click the link “Click here for President Forever (Original, 2004 Version) scenarios.” on the page.
Hi John,
What version do you have of President Forever 2008 + Primaries?
I have the President Forever 2008 + Primaries - Version 1.05.10.5
Hi John,
I recommend updating your program to the latest version (here http://theoryspark.com/help/political_games/president_forever/version-information/ ). If this does not help, please e-mail us here http://www.theoryspark.com/interact/contact.htm describing exactly what problem you are experiencing (are you getting an error message? if so, when?).
Hi:
I have noticed my election returns on election night for on Prez Forever 2008 come in very very slowly. Ive tried speeding up the results by pressing the button for FF, but nothing happens.

Hi Emil,
Please e-mail us with this problem ( http://www.theoryspark.com/interact/contact.htm ), and we can help you there.
First off, I LOVE this game!!
I have the latest version of Presidents Forever + Primaries downloaded (1.6.0.6). I’m playing a scenario in which I won the primary. When I try to select my VP, I get an error reading “Access violation at address 00435DCF in module ‘p4e.exe’. Read of address 000000000. I’m unable to select any VP candidate. Please help!
Please send us a zipped (compressed) savegame from just before the error. If you have AutoSave on, play until you get the error. Then send us the autosave, which will be saved from the turn before.
Hi.
I created a new character with the candidate option. It was a Republican. After I’d pretty much won the primaries with this character, I decided to shake things up a offer the VP position to Hillary with the VP offer and some PiPs. She accepted.
However, now that I’ve done that, the turn seems to have frozen on ‘processing turn,’ and whenever I click off of it, my computer gives me an error message saying ‘List index out of bounds (4).’
What does this mean? What happened?
Hi Clayton,
The best way for us to figure this out is for you to e-mail us ( http://www.theoryspark.com/interact/contact.htm ) the savegame file (zipped, or compressed) from a turn before the error occurs (if you had autosave on and haven’t played another game in the meantime, there will be a save file called autosave in President Forever 2008 + Primaries’s savegame folder).
Hello,
I recently got a new computer because my old one was broken, is there a way I can re-download President Forever 2008 onto this computer, without having to pay for it again?
Hi Jamie,
